About Me

Hi!  My name is Sherry and I am a wife, stay at home mom, Etsy Store owner of Sherendipitee and a Young Living Rep from the Bay Area.  I enjoy reading, painting and writing but most of all I love being a stay at home mom and being there for my family.
I am a resilient butterfly, because the butterfly represents the thyroid and with autoimmune diseases, one must learn to be resilient, to find balance and happiness in their silent disease.  I am starting my story from the very beginning, but in separate posts, because I want everyone to see how my disease developed and progressed as time went by.  Start at the beginning of my blog, in the middle or where ever you want!
I was diagnosed with hashimotos, an autoimmune thyroid disease, in 2013 and looking back at my health history, I believe this all started for me back in 1996, my Freshman year in college.  I suffered with my symptoms at its worst for almost 5 years, seeing doctor after doctor, only to be continuously told that I was fine, stressed out or it was all in my head.  I finally took my health into my own hands and started researching my symptoms and it led me to holistic medicine.  This is where I finally got answers to all my questions and oddly felt consoled knowing that I truly was sick and that it wasn’t all in my head.  It was from that point that what laid ahead of me was a journey of labs, bloodwork and alot of playing the waiting game.
I started this blog because I feel like I am just one of thousands of people who have been misinformed, misdirected and ignored by health professionals and I hope to give those who feel lost in their health, the strength and courage to take their health into their own hands and to fight for what they feel in their heart.  A path to better health is your willingness to step outside of the box, to educate yourselves on your body and all the natural and clean foods and things that can help heal your body.  I am in no way perfect in my diet and lifestyle but I believe that if you learn how to make healthier choices, it can be the beginning of a healthier and happier you!
